Making Accomodations

For me the most difficult part about teaching is teaching to the entire class. It seems kind of silly, but keeping in mind all the different learning types, or disabilities you have in your classroom can be a challenge. The exciting part about all of this is that I enjoy challenges, and changing lesson plan doesn't scare me, instead it excites me!

The most valuable thing I took from this lecture is the table on teaching an inclusive classroom. The chart outlines 9 different areas where a teacher should make changes in their lessons for students with learning disabilites. The chart can be seen below:

I think this is a great way to think about each lesson, test, or activity. This will ensure that each student will have equal opportunity to learn without feeling overwhelmed or losing confidence in themselves. It is challenging for a teacher to incorporate all of these things into their lesson, but a good teacher would not turn down the opportunity to teach ALL of their students!
